About the guide

Useful first. Entertaining second. Honest throughout.

Old Town Málaga is an independent English guide for people visiting Malaga city. It exists to turn scattered information into decisions a real traveller can use.

How the guides are researched

Stable facts are checked against primary sources wherever possible: official attraction websites, public transport operators, tourism bodies, municipal information and the venue itself. Practical recommendations are then organised around the questions visitors repeatedly ask: where to eat, how to use limited time and what to do when plans go sideways.

Opening hours, prices, timetables, access conditions and reservation rules can change. Articles therefore explain the durable decision first and link to the official source for the live detail. When the clock matters, the official clock wins.

Community knowledge, with a filter

Questions from travellers and local recommendations shared in r/VisitMalaga help identify the small problems conventional guides often miss. Community input is treated as a lead, not automatic proof; factual claims are checked before they become advice.

Editorial and commercial independence

The site may display advertising through Google AdSense. Advertising helps fund hosting, research and maintenance, but it does not buy rankings, recommendations or kinder adjectives. A business is included because it is relevant to the visitor's decision, not because an advert happens to appear nearby.

Photographs are licensed for use by Old Town Málaga or used with permission. Images are selected to represent the place or subject described, then resized locally for faster pages.

Corrections

If a practical detail is wrong or a link has moved, email hello@oldtownmalaga.com with the page and the source that confirms the correction. Clear evidence is adored here almost as much as a well-timed plate of boquerones.
